MAIS STAR HORIZON
Thought through in the smallest detail

– The Mais Star* Horizon concept

The Mais Star* Horizon concept relies on the proven design of the Mais Star* models: Two counter-rotating snapping rolls, each fitted with four knife bars, aggressively pull the corn stalks downward in a controlled motion. The integrated horizontal chopper requires a low amount of drive power to shred the gathered corn straw for faster rotting, virtually eliminating the need for mulching or follow-up chopping.

The optimized position of the horizontal chopper ensures the Mais Star* Horizon models produce a uniformly short stubble even in varying row spacings or when the combine is driven at an angle to the plant rows.
The system is suitable for all crops even when infested with weeds or grass, and handles mature, tough plants with ease.

– Residue Management

Excellent straw spreading quality. Perfect chopping quality. Eliminates the need for stover post-processing to enable subsequent tillage operations.
Extremely short, uniform stubble.

Why to choose GERINGHOFF?

There are many reasons… the best equipment in the standard specification, drive via gearbox / cardan shaft provides high speed and reliable power transmission, without chains and belts, automatic tensioning of drive chains, excellent service period, low maintenance, can be used on different combines, a large selection of additional equipment, the ability to choose the color of your adapter…

Accessories:

Automatic Steering System – The automatic steering system supports the driver during harvesting and keeps the combine harvester and header fully automatically in the corn row if supported by the combine harvester. This ensures optimum results when using the Geringhoff corn header.

Automatic Height Control – The ground sensors ensure your Geringhoff corn head – if supported by the combine harvester – automatically follows the ground contours. By optimizing head height according to the relevant terrain, the ground sensors protect the head from damage while saving wear and tear on the row unit assemblies to provide a long corn head service life. The ground sensors are fully automatic, helping to reduce operator strain and minimizing potential errors during harvest.

Stubble Breaker – The stubble-breaker help bend down the sharp-edged corn stubble to avoid tire or track damage. Additionally, they support the weight of your Geringhoff corn head to prevent the chopper assemblies from contacting the ground.

Down Corn Auger – The optional down corn auger makes harvesting down crops even easier. The hydraulically driven conveyor auger located on the outside bodies (left-hand, right-hand, or double-sided design) of your Geringhoff corn head prevents cobs from being slung out of the corn head. It also keeps corn plants from accumulating on the outer bodies.

Manual Gearbox – The manual gearbox makes your Geringhoff corn head even more versatile. As an option, you may select a two-speed or four-speed selector for your standard gearbox. This provides your Geringhoff head with a variety of shiftable speeds to suit various harvesting situations. Enhanced versatility and the optional sunflower kit open new doors in terms of application flexibility for your harvest.

Sunflower Kit – As an alternative, Geringhoff corn heads may be fitted with an active(left) or passive(right) sunflower harvest system. Field characteristics and crop maturity levels will determine which system is recommendable.

HORIZON STAR II
Maximum shredding of your plants

– The Horizon Star* II concept Shredding and chopping in once

Two stalk rollers with different-sized diameters seize the plant and pull it downward in a constant motion. At the same time, another rotor fitted with 15 rotary knives cuts the plant up into uniformly short sections.
This design ensures the plant is shredded during harvest, enabling faster rotting.
The horizontal chopper is located in the front area to the side of the picking row. This optimised position means that the plant is cut off very close to the ground at full speed, leaving a particularly short stubble which no longer provides sufficient habitat for pests.

Sunflower Heads

SunLite*
Row independent sunflower harvesting head

The initial contact is key

Harvesting sunflowers is a sensitive job and the plants have to be treated with care to reap maximum results.
It is the initial contact of the plant with the machine that makes the difference here.
Our tips, specially developed for gentle sunflower harvesting, ensure a perfect start.

Bespoke sunflower design – wear-resistant, trough-shaped tips – bespoke sunflower designs for a gentle contact. Additionally: maximum yields at high work rates ( > 110 km/h).

Good crop control – relief for man and machine

The tips guide the crop to the cutterbar while the integrated seed catcher prevents any seeds from dropping to the ground.
The tip width is optimized to allow for row-independent harvesting in all conditions, which reduces operator strain and mechanical stress on the head.

Our features - Your way to success

Frame and bodywork – Slim design

Sunflowers are a sensitive crop. Therefore we have made the side panels slim and lean to avoid shattering or damage and prevent losses.

Feeding the crop into the machine – Gently and cautiously for maximum yields

The height-adjustable and degressive helper roll helps feed the plants gently to the auger, pulling them through with great care and very slowly – thanks to its massive 620mm diameter. This significantly enhances the head’s performance and effectiveness.

Well constructed – For minimized losses

Shatter-loss grooves ensure maximum versatility for varying row spacings. Combined with the independently adjustable helper roll this ensures an almost loss-free harvesting process.

SunLite* Horizon
Discover the benefits of chopping

Just like the SunLite* head, the SunLite* Horizon is a sunflower head independent of row spacing, but with the addition of a horizontal chopper.

Be bold – raise your expectations

For the most part, sunflowers are made up of highly abrasive material. When the stover is chopped, the chops are spread evenly across the field, which has many advantages. Boost the quality of your produce and protect your equipment at the same time.

The horizontal chopper – for boosting performance

The horizontal chopper is a perfect-fit solution for the bodywork. The counter-rotating blades prevent blockages and give clean cuts at high speeds even in the most arduous of conditions. The rotors are driven by maintenance-free, life-time lubricated gearboxes.

The drive concept – reliable and powerfull

The horizontal chopper unit is driven by a sturdy, reliable duplex chain. Each gearbox has its own cam-type clutch for individual protection and maximum reliability of the unit.

Hydraulic height control – useful features for the driver

Hydraulic height control conveniently from the combine’s joystick. Visual chopper height indicator. Cleanest cuts even in the most difficult conditions.

Maximum Clearance

The maximum clearance between the cutterbar and the chopper is 750mm. With a stubble height of approx. 150mm, the plant is picked at 870mm from the ground.
The picking height may be higher for longer stubble.

Minimum Clearance

Minimum 300mm cutterbar chopper clearance. Set to the lowest stubble height, the unit picks the flowers at approx. 200mm from the ground.
